MOSMAN

Set within the distinguished harbourside suburb of Mosman on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, this project will involve the comprehensive refurbishment and extension of an existing double-storey heritage building, one of the most complex and rewarding project types in residential construction. Sensitivity to the heritage fabric, combined with an ambitious contemporary brief, will shape every aspect of the design and delivery approach.

The works will commence with targeted structural demolition, including the removal of load-bearing walls to unlock the floor plan and introduce flowing, open living spaces across both levels. The existing roofline will be built out and reconfigured to integrate with the new additions, ensuring the extended form reads as a natural evolution of the original building rather than a later imposition.

Externally, the double brick walls will be refinished in new render throughout, providing a refined and consistent facade that acknowledges the heritage character of the building while presenting a fresh, unified exterior to the street. Three new bathrooms will be added across the home, alongside a new kitchen, butler’s pantry, laundry and expanded living area, fundamentally reimagining how the home will function for contemporary family life.

The interior fitout will be executed to a high standard, with timber herringbone floors introducing warmth and character underfoot, marble benchtops anchoring the kitchen and bathrooms, and custom joinery delivering bespoke storage and detailing throughout. A new air conditioning system will ensure year-round comfort across all levels.

RSD Constructions will deliver this project under a fixed-price contract.
